AFRO-NETS> 4th ICPC abstracts available

4th ICPC abstracts available
----------------------------

ProCOR, the electronic conference on Emerging Cardiovascular Diseases in
Developing Countries, is very pleased to announce that the abstracts from
the 4th International Conference on Preventive Cardiology (4th ICPC; June
29-July 3, 1997, Montreal, Canada) will be made available through special
agreement with the publisher on the World Wide Web and through e-mail.

Please look for the abstracts on July 1, while the conference is still in
session. You may find them one of two ways:

1. If you have direct Internet access, you can find the 4th ICPC by
    directing your browser to:

    http://www.healthnet.org/programs/procor/icpc

2. If you have only e-mail, you can use a tool named "GetWeb" (which
allows you to retrieve the text content of Web pages) to access the
    abstracts by:

    a) Preparing a message addressed to: getweb@usa.healthnet.org

    b) In the text of the message, type:

  begin
  search procor <keyword(s)>
  end

    c) Send the message.

You will then receive an e-mail message back containing the titles of
abstracts and other documents available at the ProCOR Web site which match
the keywords you specified. To retrieve the text of selected abstracts/
documents, please read the following.

At the end of each title, you will see a number in square brackets, for
example, [2], which is the "GetWeb reference number". If you would like a
certain title, simply look up the reference number, then look to the end of
the message where you should see a list of reference numbers each with a
URL (Uniform Resource Locator or address of a Web document) next to it.
Now copy the URL into a new e-mail message with the following format:

begin
GET URL
end

--------
For example,

begin
GET http://www.healthnet.org/programs/procor/icpc/A-1.html
end

--------
Now send the message to getweb@usa.healthnet.org

---------------------
GetWeb HELP DOCUMENTS
---------------------
If you need help, please send an e-mail message to:
getweb@usa.healthnet.org

In the body of the message, type:

help

Then send the message.

Thank you.
