Authentication of Invitation to attend Conference (6)
-----------------------------------------------------

Dear friends,

Thanks folks for your response and helping me out. I am grateful
in particular to Azeh John Muma, Bamenda, Cameroon; Selemani S.
Mbuyita of Ifakara, Tanzania; Ebenezer Adeleye, Ile Ife, Osun
State Nigeria; and Albert Kunihira, of Uganda. I trust your
alerts will in turn help others who might have been lured by
these tricksters. Read for yourself the so-called invitation be-
low.

Cheers for your solidarity!

Report of Youth Participation at the XV International AIDS Con-
ference Bangkok, Thailand
---------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

I recently participated at the XV International Conference on
AIDS held in Bangkok, Thailand between July 11-16 and came up
with a report of the Participation of Youth at the Conference
(please download the report here:
http://files.takingitglobal.org/15/267/Report ).

Pre-conference, I was involved with the AIDS2004YOUTH, Bangkok
Youth Force and the Bangkok Youth Groups, which were the major
international groupings working to ensure the effective partici-
pation of youth at the conference and to promote youth issues
and visibility.

While in Bangkok, I attended a dinner with Dr. Peter Piot, UN-
AIDS Executive Director, Senator Mechai Viravaidya, Community
Programme Co-chair, Don De Gagne, Community Programme Co-Chair,
Zackie of Treatment Access Campaign, Alice W., Chair of ICW,
Richard, Executive Director, ICASO and a few others from the of-
fice of the UN Secretary General, UNAIDS and the Thai Govern-
ment.

I spoke at the dinner on behalf of the emerging Global Youth
HIV/AIDS Coalition. I facilitated a workshop session on "The
Role of Youth in the third decade of HIV/AIDS." I was part of
the work group to develop the framework for the Global Youth
Network and also spoke at the Youth Press conference held during
the day before the closing ceremony.

This report: http://files.takingitglobal.org/15/267/Report con-
tains an overview of the entire participation of youth at the
conference from my own point of view, challenges of youth, rec-
ommendations of youth and other relevant papers prepared pre-
conference and presented by youth at the conference. See also a
news report from Bangkok Post.
