FAAN HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign (4)
------------------------------------
Dear AFRO-NETS colleagues,
I do not see what Mr Ben Nnabue wrote that will cause him a
blacklisting from AFRO-NETS. We must listen to everybody in our
efforts to limit the AIDS scourge. One thing I did not quite un-
derstand though is Ben's title of Chancellor. Why such a big ti-
tle? I think a less bogus title will be more people friendly.

This posting is in response to that from Dr. O.O. Ovadje
(12/27/04)
I do not recall that anyone so far has called for the blacklist-
ing of Mr. Ben Nnabue from AFRO-NETS. To me, there is a lot more
troubling in his posting than his title. The statement quoted
below as to how HIV/AIDS came into Nigeria for example, is abso-
lutely untrue.
Mr. Ben Nnabue wrote and I quote:
"The question at this point is how did HIV/AIDS come into this
country Nigeria? Through visitors of course, either by air, sea
or land, but most of the time by air, that is why we are concen-
trating on the International Airports in our country to create
awareness to suit the international standard."
If this statement is not troubling to Dr. Ovadje, I wonder what
else would.
I hold the view that the statement brings the name of a Federal
Agency like FAAN into disrepute as it undeservedly maligns in-
bound travellers to Nigeria.

And I agree with Mr.Odutola's sentiments. I am also taking Mr.
Nnabue's mail with a 'load' of salt until I see further clarifi-
cation. From the little understanding I have of the way govern-
ment affiliated bodies work, this approach is a bit suspicious.
This is not the first time somebody has tried a scam on members
of this forum.
