HIV/AIDS/STDs electronic conference
-----------------------------------
SatelLife launched a global discussion conference on HIV/AIDS/STDs called
ProCAARE in 1996. We welcome anyone who is interested in joining - please
see the end of this message for details on how to subscribe:
The Program for Collaboration Against AIDS and Related Epidemics (ProCAARE)
ProCAARE, an electronic conference, is the Program for Collaboration Against
AIDS and Related Epidemics, initiated by SatelLife in cooperation with and
Richard Marlink, M.D., of the Harvard AIDS Institute/Harvard School of
Public Health, and Gerard J. Nau, M.D., Ph.D., Albert Shaw, M.D., Ph.D., and
Ramnik Xavier, M.D., from the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard
Medical School. A Steering Committee, comprised of representatives from
internationally-recognised institutions from Africa, Asia, Latin America,
Europe and North America, will guide the overall direction of the
conference.
The goal of this electronic conference is to provide a forum for discussion
among researchers and clinicians both in the industrialized and the
developing world who are engaged in the fight against the epidemic. ProCAARE
will ensure that the researcher in the developing world will have rapid
access to current information and to a body of experts from around the
world. The conference is monitored by moderators to ensure the scientific
quality of the discussion and to encourage contributions from interested
researchers and clinicians. The moderators also "feed" the network with
summaries of current and relevant research findings.
SatelLife provides all technical and administrative support to ProCAARE.
