International Day of Women Loving Women

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
We are celebrating December 5th as the International day of
women loving women. This is the day on which women loving women
fight for their rights all over world to seek support from oth-
ers. In our society, sexuality in general and women's sexuality
in particular is suppressed. Love and sex between women is to-
tally denied. This situation should be changed. Love, affection,
liking, intimacy etc., are considered as immoral and for the
same reason it is considered antisocial also. Love is praised so
much in movies, books and drama and on the contrary it is denied
in real life. This day is aimed to find the right place for
love.
We realize that the freedom of women loving women will lead to
the freedom of all women. This will lead to the liberation of
all oppressed too. This will liberate humanity from present
power-centered male dominated social order. Love has the poten-
tial to end the social oppression, violence and discriminations.
This day is the loud pronouncement of the same. This is to be
observed with all gaiety and enthusiasm, in cohesion and unity
amidst all our differences. Let us break all boundaries of suf-
focations, pride and jealousy. Let us sing and dance. Come on.
We are waiting for you for 5th December.
The Kerala event is organized in Thiruvananthapuram on 4th and
5th of December 2004 .The observance of INTERNATIONAL DAY OF
WOMEN LOVING WOMEN will take place on 5th.The venue is in Thiru-
vananthapuram. Is it far from you? Can't you make it? Then ob-
serve it in your own locality in a public place. Let us regain
the lost energy and vitality of our society.
