Sciences and 25th Annual Congress of the Physiological Society of Southern
Africa

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organising Committee it gives me great pleasure in invit-
ing you to the 2nd Congress of the African Association of Physiological
Sciences and the 25th Annual Congress of the Physiological Society of
Southern Africa to be held at the International Convention Centre Durban,
South Africa from 21-24 September 1997.

A comprehensive scientific programme has been drawn up for the forthcoming
congress. The programme will include key note & plenary lectures, deliv-
ered by distinguished international speakers, symposia on pathophysiology
by international experts, a workshop on teaching of physiology and patho-
physiology and another on laboratory animal science by established teach-
ers.
  
For local and international delegates and their accompanied persons a com-
prehensive social programme during the congress and a wide variety of post-
congress tours have been organised. This will allow our visitors the op-
portunity to experience Durban and other important tourist centres in our
new South Africa.

The Congress venue, the International Convention Centre Durban, has been
acclaimed as one of the finest conference centres in the world.

The Organising Committee looks forward to welcoming you to Durban and South
