Funds from the Actions for Building Capacity (ABC) Training Program
of the Fogarty International Center at the US National Institutes of
Health are available to support a dynamic and independent Postdoc-
toral Fellow to join the Department of Tropical Medicine at Tulane
University, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

Scientific projects at Tulane University will involve studies of
Anopheles mosquitoes and/or their relationships with malaria para-
sites. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to coordinate pro-
jects at Tulane with research on malaria vectors at the International
Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) in Nairobi, Kenya.
This will require travel to Kenya twice per year to work with the
ICIPE team.

Requirements:
1) PhD degree in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, or ento-
   mology completed in the last three years,
2) excellent English and communication skills and willingness to work
   as part of a team, and
3) applicants must be from African countries.

Preference will be given to those applicants with molecular entomol-
ogy experience holding a career-track position in their home coun-
tries. The position is based at Tulane University in the USA and is
available immediately for one-year with possibility of an extension
based on satisfactory progress.
