[afro-nets] RFI: Cheaper medicine for penicillinase producing bacteria

Dear Sir,

Usually doctors of our country use enterally or parenterally Cephalosporins or Cloxacillins for the wounds suspected by penicillinase producing bacterias like Staphylococcus Aureus etc. which is still very costly in our LDC countries. Even private practioners started very costly thrid generation Cephalosporins since decades. Poor people cannot purchase these drugs. In Europe, I saw before 20 years) they use sometimes Fucidin (Sodium Fusidate) for the same which is also very costly and not used in Bangladesh. I am aware that topical Bacitracin plus neomycin does well in the superficial skin infections for the same.

Now a day, have we got anything cheaper for treatment of the penicillinase producing bacterias? Can anybody suggest me anything on this context? Is there any cheaper Methicillin preparation for the purpose or anything else for the poor people's treatment for such infections?

Sincerely yours
