Risk Perception Campaign Targets 22 African Countries
-----------------------------------------------------
Population Services International's (PSI) AIDSMark project has
launched a regional HIV prevention campaign in 11 East and
Southern Africa countries, and will roll it out in an additional
11 West and Central African before the end of 2004. Based on re-
search which found young people have difficulty personalizing
their risk of HIV infection within trusted relationships, the
PSI Trusted Partner campaign uses mass media to educate youth on
their personal perception of the risk of HIV/AIDS. Campaign ma-
terials are adapted for language and cultural difference in each
country.
