In cooperation with German and foreign partners, the CDG forms an in-
ternational network. The CDG focuses on two main areas:
* International training and exchange programs with industrialized
  and take-off countries;
* Specialized training cooperation with developing countries.

About 25,000 students, trainees, young professionals, specialists and
top executives from more than 100 countries participate annually in
the CDG programs. The CDG depends on the governmental and private
sector to achieve its objectives: The international exchange of ex-
perience and know-how; the responsible initiation of a sustainable
development process; personal growth through international profes-
sional experience; promotion of women; worldwide cooperation.

Training for Sustainable Development

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development
co-operates with the CDG to implement the government's developmental
policies and programs. In this context the CDG designs and ad-
ministers international training programs for executives from devel-
oping countries on behalf of the Ministry. The programs emphasize
economic and technological methods and innovative processes to con-
tribute to achieve an ecologically sustainable, economically effi-
