# E-DRUG: Advertisment for OTC-drugs in europe

In Switzerland we discuss a new law about drug advertisement, . During the  
discussion, the pharmaceutical industry says always that in the European law  
drug advertisement for OTC - drugs is usual for the public in TV, newspaper ..  
and that the EC know no restriction for the advertisement for OTC - products.

Now, we have heart, that this is not right.

We have got the information, that in UK and Germany Anorexica are OTC, but the  
advertisement for this indication is in Germany allowed, but not in UK . For  
the discussion we want know, if other countries in the EC have restriction for  
the advertisement of drugs, which are OTC ?

When you are in Europe:

Please inform the SDIC, if your countries know restriction for the drug  
advertisement of otc-drugs (if yes: for which indication) or if in your  
countries, there exist no restriction.

Because, we must give our opinion to the new law until 10.10.95, we need your  
information as soon as possible ! (when we have your information before  
10.10.95, we can put it in our letter to the drug regulation body. Informations,  
which reach the SDIC after 10.10.95 can help us during the lobbying during the  
discussion in the parliament).
