E-drug: Crisis in the Australian PBS (cont) --------------------------------------------- I would like to thank Ken Harvey for posting these important and disturbing news items with regard to the Australian PBS. I would also add that it is interesting that the United States government, as represented by Dr. Thomas Novotny, apparently has a much different view of conflict of interest, when it comes to the WHO. Apparently the US government believes it is a conflict of interest if someone who applies to work at the WHO previously worked to expand access to medicine, on behalf of the poor. On the other hand, coming to the WHO, WTO or WIPO from an pharmaceutical industry job is apparently applauded. I'm please at least that many persons in Australia, outside of the Australian government, have a more traditional view of what constitutes a conflict of interest.
