E-DRUG: Help wanted: aspirin dose

E-DRUG: Help wanted: aspirin dose
---------------------------------

Hi Everyone

Can anyone help, please?

We have a 10 month old baby with a right internal capsule infarct.
Doctors wish to use aspirin for its antiplatelet effect. Looking
for a dose ( with reference). Drugdex has 1-2mg/kg/day. Another
textbook has 2-5mg/kg/day without a reference. Can anyone help
with a substantial answer?

Thanks

Please note: the use of aspirin in children as a general analgesic

has been associated with Reye's syndrome, a severe but rare disorder
characterized by acute encephalopathy and liver degeneration.
