Dear Dr. Woods,
Hello. As a fellow E-Drugger I read your letter and it never occurred
to me that a syrup did not exist for chidren. I called the hospital phamacy
to see if it was available and even gave him the information in your letter to
him. He had none on hand and I aksed him to se if it could be oredered. it
looks like it is not readily avaliable in this country but that you can get
it if you know the right person. I think this is very bad because it would
make adminstering the drug to children so much simpler. I should expalin
that I am an Oncologist with a specialty in AIDS so I do use Rifampicin in
treating those AIDS patients who do have TB. So far I have not had
any children yet but I know the day will come when I will. I live in Denver,
Colorado, which at one time was one big TB recovery and treatment canter. If
you have any information on the liquid form I would appreciate you sending it
to me and when I do I will work at try at getting it more into use at the
hospitals where I consult and where ever it might be used to make taking the
drug easier for children. If I can be of any help . Please feel free to
write me at pambec@aol.com. Thank you for your time and bringing this small
but I think important drug fact to light. I am sure there are many other
doctors who would like the option of being able to give an oral form of this
drug to children with TB.
Sincerely yours,
Tim Rasico
