The Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) is pleased to announce
that its highly acclaimed Health Management Programmes will now be offered
to students in 8 countries in Africa, namely Namibia, Botswana, Zambia,
Malawi, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Swaziland. Through a generous grant
from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the FPD is able to
provide scholarships on the following two programmes:

*Health Management Programme:* The Health Management Programme is is an
entry level management programme that successfully develops the skills of
new managers, supervisors, and team leaders within the HIV and AIDS environment.
Students that enroll on this programme are exposed to complex business
environments and are challenged to think differently through
self-assessment and reflection. By examining a range of management
concepts, students discover winning techniques that improve their ability to
manage in an ever changing world. The most relevant management subjects have
been weaved together to form a solid foundation for the emerging manager.
FPD's approach is to combine excellent theory and personal experience, which
results in a management programme that is both inspiring and practical. This
programme is run over 10 months and comprises 10 one day contact sessions
and distance learning.

*Advanced Health Management Programme:* The Advanced Health Management
Programme (AHMP) is co-certified by the Yale School of Public Health and
FPD. This internationally acclaimed intensive management development short
course is tailor-made for the needs of senior healthcare executives and
managers working in the HIV and AIDS field in the public and not-for-profit
sectors. Through high impact contact sessions and intensive assessments,
this programme develops participants’ strategic management capabilities by
broadening their views of their roles in the HIV sector and by developing
key managerial competencies required to successfully manage in such an
environment. The course is offered on a part time basis over 12 months and
is comprised of 12 one-day contact sessions in three blocks and substantive
distance learning.

A limited number of scholarships is available so please apply early to
ensure that your application reaches the selection committee in time. *Full
