E-DRUG: Sumamed registered in USA?

Dear Sir,

Please let us know if the Azithromycin Tablets 500mg sold under brand Name
Sumamed by Pliva dd is approved by CDER as generic substitute of Zithrox of
Pfizer.

[As far as I know Pliva invented azithromycin and then sold the marketing
rights for most of the world to Pfizer. I would be surprised if Pfizer would
then allow the Pliva generic to compete with Pfizer's equivalent in USA.
For general interest: any one knows how to check at FDA/CDER whether a
particular drug is registered? WB]
