[e-drug] Tablet Counters

E-DRUG: Tablet Counters
---------------------------------------------

Dear colleagues
In 2006 we were looking for a small tablet counting machine
Perhaps there was nothing around at the time. We did not get much
response - I have checked the archives.

Now we have found some money and we are looking again for a small
machine that can sit on a table and count tablets or capsules in batches
of up to 100 or so (or more) - suitable for use at district or regional level for counting tablets or capsules for distribution to remoter facilities. Electricity is available.

We would love information about sources and prices of such a machine.

thank you very much

best wishes

E-DRUG: Tablet Counters (2)
---------------------------

Hi Beverly,

it may be of help to simply use an electronic weighing balance which with the average tablet weight known (average 20 tabs) will accurately tell you how may tablets have been dispensed in a container. Balance should be calibrated in the applicable weighing range. These may also print-out the results (date, tar/nett, calculated to no. of tablets...tablet strength, batch no/exp date?) which you could add into the container as proof of correct dispensed amount.
