EU HIV/AIDS programme website launched
--------------------------------------
A New web site for the European Union's HIV/AIDS Programme in Develop-
ing Countries has been launched:
http://europa.eu.int/comm/development/aids
The new site's primary goal is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS
issues in developing countries and to facilitate the exchange of infor-
mation. The new site will also provide comprehensive information and
relevant documentation relating to all aspects of the Programme. This
will include clearly written information on policies, obtaining fund-
ing, publications and contacts.
The site is aimed at all organisations and individuals involved in
HIV/AIDS work in developing countries but particularly at those based
in the South. This will be reflected by the site's focus on information
exchange, links with Southern organisations and quick download time.
The site will feature in particular:
* Comprehensive information on programme policies;
* Information on project funding and conference sponsorship and how to
apply direct links to other sites focused on HIV/AIDS and sustainable
development in developing countries;
* Information on relevant events and conferences, including direct
links to HIV/AIDS conference sites;
* Information on how to order the Programme's publications, plus online
access to the most relevant information, including books, newsletters
and press releases in English, French and Spanish.
The new web site will play an integral part in the Programme's work in
encouraging the transfer and exchange of HIV/AIDS related information
as well as providing practical advice on how organisations can with the
European Union.
