[afro-nets] RFI: MPH distance education courses (3)

Dear Kennedy Oulu and Dr.Esra Aya,

Please see the WHO website dedicated to health services managers: MAKER http://www.who.int/management
On the right you will see a link to "Study courses" and on that link there is a page listing universities and organisations that offer distance based study.
At the bottom of that page there are several search engines which can also help you find courses on particular topics or in particular countries.

If you can't find what you are looking for and need further assistance, please write to maker@who.int or complete the form on the MAKER website.

Regards,

Laura

Good afternoon Peter Nyasulu.

What is the reputation of the University of the Western Cape offering distance MPH programs?

I am planning to do online MPH in one of the South Africa Universities.

Thanx for the information.

University of the Western Cape's MPH programme is of a world-class standard.

Incidentally, not only am I a student of the School (of Public Health), but I am doing it on a full time basis and have undergone series of rigours, as there are no compromises in the delivery of the modules in general.

Unfortunately, you are late in terms of registering this year and would have to wait till next academic year. I suggest that you regularly check the website www.uwc.ac.za and even when you are lucky to be eventually admitted, as it is relatively competitive and there are essays to write as part of the admission process, try to do it on a part-time basis except if you need to resign/leave your job, as I was constrained to do, in order to effectively participate. On my part, though prospecting for job now, I am confident that I have been well armed with what it takes to be amongst the best in the sector, having undergone Public Health trainings in one of the best, available and affordable institutions.

Thanks and best wishes in your quest.

Regards,
