[e-drug] ARV Drug Supply Mangt course in low resource settings

E-DRUG: ARV Drug Supply Mangt course in low resource settings
-------------------------------------------------------------

Anti-retroviral and Related Drug Supply Chain Management in Low Resource Settings
Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur 302011
(November 18-24, 2007)

Access to anti-retroviral medicines is poor in low resource settings in developing countries. Resources such as ARVs and diagnostics are now increasingly available; however, rapid scale-up of AIDS treatment programs has not occurred, in part, due to ARV drug management issues which include difficulties with pharmaceutical supply systems and logistics, insufficient human resources to provide ART and barriers to ARV adherence. There is a great need for improving the supplies through modern management techniques.
The proposed one week's course based on module developed by the DELIVER, USAID, MSH, WHO and other experts in the field.

Who should attend?

The course is specifically aimed for Policy makers, Management Staff from Ministries of Health, ARV Programme Managers, NGO Officials responsible for national and local programmes, Development Aid agencies, Social scientists, Pharmacists and other public health professionals interested in improving drug supply management and adherence to ARV therapy.

1. To promote rational ARV therapy and adherence
2. To promote access to ARV drugs and strategies for scaling up of the current programme
3. To expose participants to modern management techniques of drug supply systems
