E-drug: Re: DTC advertising
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
If you search on e-drug archives using 'direct-to-consumer
advertising' http://www.healthnet.org/programs/edrug.html, you'll
find around 90 contributions on the topic. I carried out a research
project on the potential effects of DTCA on the health system,
funded by the Canadian government. The full report is posted at:
http://www.chspr.ubc.ca/hpru/dtca.htm
I assume you are familiar with Rhonda Galbally's report for the
Australian government, which recommends against introduction of
DTCA in Australia. I just did a search to see if I could find the web
address and found an Australian Financial Review article saying that
her the final report, released in January, also recommended against
introduction of DTCA except for very limited comparative price
advertising.
Best regards,
