E-drug: Registration fees (cont)
---------------------------------------------
In Indonesia, the registration for licensing of new products is still free.
Although there have been a lot of discussions, the mechanism of
collecting the fee is still unclear due to old fashioned legislation.
I think it is not fair to have the registration free of charge. The
real cost of the evaluation, registration process then have to be
borne by public funding for pharmaceuticals and health, which is
already so limited. Many developing countries only allocate their
public funding for health even less than 2 %.
