[afro-nets] 2nd Global Summit on HIV/AIDS, Traditional Medicine & Indigenous Knowledge (2)

2nd Global Summit on HIV/AIDS, Traditional Medicine & Indigenous Knowledge (2)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Sir:

How exciting to hear of your conference upcoming 2008 and wishing you well. However, I was dismayed to see in the call for papers that although nurses certainly fit in many, if not most, of the categories for request to submit papers...as a profession we were not listed. I know from your fine group that you realize nurses play an important role---but we wish to be full and recognized partners in the process.

As Nurses around the world struggle for recognition and to be part of the process, please recognize and invite us to play a role in the academic pursuit to share our knowledge as well.

With your approval, I would like to include this announcement in HealthnetNews Nursing Chat. The online Nursing communication can be found at website www.healtnet.org or for more information hnn-nursing-join@healthnet.org.

Congratulations on what is certain to be a wonderful conference!!

2nd Global Summit on HIV/AIDS, Traditional Medicine & Indigenous Knowledge (3)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Ceeya Patton-Bolman:

We thank you very much for calling our attention to the omission of nurses from our invitation.

We believe nurses are members of the medical profession. However, in order to avoid multiple-posting over Afronet and for clarity, we hereby invite and have taken steps to given full recognition to these indispensable professionals by including nurses in our invitation at the conference web page http://africa-first.com/2hivsummit2008/ .

Please share the announcement with your colleagues around the world.

Once again, we wish to thank you for calling our attention to this omission and for your encouragement.

Sincerely,

J.William Danquah, President/CEO
