Akintola Odutola is right in noting that in Africa today, pertinence
and quality of information accessible via the web are of highest pri-
ority, not the level of access/connectivity to the Internet.
It's easy to underestimate how many institutions in Africa now are
connected and how very many people -- especially young adults -- are
logging on via cybercafes and other shared outlets. The rate at which
effective use continues to grow depends directly and mainly on the
appeal and relevance of material available.
