This interactive event will explore the vital role of the health supply chain workforce in the realization of global and country health goals, including the Millennium Development Goals for combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, improving maternal health, and reducing child mortality. The event will highlight the efforts of the People that Deliver global partnership, an initiative to promote workforce excellence in supply chain management, which is steered by USAID, the WHO, and the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition.
The event is hosted by CapacityPlus. Led by IntraHealth International and partners, CapacityPlus is the USAID-funded global project uniquely focused on the health workforce needed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
Pape Gaye, IntraHealth's president and CEO, will serve as chair/moderator. Rebecca Bailey of CapacityPlus will present on Human Resources for Health and Health Supply Chains-Current State of Affairs. BenoƮt Silve of Institut Bioforce, and chair of the People that Deliver Board, will present on The People that Deliver Initiative. Others will present country examples from Burkina Faso, Namibia, and Tanzania.
