Bio-environmental methods of malaria vector control in Africa (3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I would strongly oppose the view that antimalarial drugs, mosquito
nets and insecticides are all unnecessarily sophisticated. We should
advocate for multiple interventions especially in Africa where some
specific interventions may not be easily implemented due to social,
economic and other factors. The fact that some options may be more
expensive than others does not imply that these should not be pro-
moted. What we need to do is to allow the freedom of choice once peo-
ple are aware of the possible alternatives, their strengths and limi-
tations.
