Antimalarial drug combination therapy to improve treatment efficacy
and delay drug resistance

The TDR Task Force on Drug Resistance and Policies is calling for ap-
plications to identify candidate sites for pilot studies leading to
the phased implementation of combination therapy. The pilot studies
are intended to collect the following baseline data:

- antimalarial drug resistance levels -patterns of drug procurement,
  management and distribution;
- role of public and private sector in antimalarial drug use;
- patient care seeking behaviour;
- potential for capacity building in the field of antimalarial drug
  use and policy;
- potential for pharmaco-economic evaluation and monitoring including
  cost and cost effectiveness;
- analysis of antimalarial drug markets.

Five pilot phase study sites will be selected and seed funds will be
allocated.

How to Apply:

Study proposals should be submitted using the Collaborative Research
Project application form. A questionnaire should also be completed.
The questionnaire, plus full details of how to apply are available in
full text, (.pdf - 33Kb) at:
