Some tickets are still left for the benefit performance of "Quidam", by Cirque du Soleil, to be held in London on Feb 3, 2009, at 7:45pm at the Royal Albert Hall. The entire proceeds of the tickets will go to Zip Zap--a circus/performance-oriented nonprofit in Cape Town, South Africa--to finance its social projects.
Zip Zap is a unique organization in Cape Town.
This dynamic group of people uses the circus arts to reach the youth, to develop their physical and social skills, to teach them important values: respect, team work, discipline, self esteem, dedication, to develop their imagination and creativity and to enable them to become independent adults with employable skills and caring South African citizen. These are not just words. Zip Zap has 16 years of existence and an impeccable track record.
Hundreds of children have had the chance to experience the magic of circus, the fun of playing, the excitement of hanging, the thrill of bouncing.
Today Zip Zap has various development programmes which are financed by the income generated by the Cirque du Soleil benefit shows:
- Training of Social Circus Instructors
- Circus workshops for children who are HIV positive and receiving ARV treatment
- Support to Cirque du Monde in Durban
The ticket you will buy to see Quidam at the Royal Albert Hall will enable Zip Zap to run these programmes and give opportunities to all the youth connected to Zip Zap throughout South Africa while enjoying a world class show.
