Dear Colleagues,
Community-Campus Partnerships for Health is pleased to announce that
registration materials are now available for our 5th annual conference,
Health for All in 2010: Confirming our Commitment ~ Taking Action to be
held May 5-8, 2001 in San Antonio, Texas. The conference seeks to demon-
strate the contribution that partnerships between communities and higher
educational institutions can make to achieve the nation's Healthy People
2010 objectives:
-Promoting health,
-Reducing health disparities
-Improving quality of life.
Highlights of the conference include:
*Plenary presentations by:
-America Bracho -director of Latino Health Access;
-Fernando Guerra - director of the San Antonio Metropolitan Health Dis-
trict;
-David Smith - president of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center;
-Mark Dooris - European Network of Health Promoting Universities
*Half-day intensive workshops on such topics as service-learning in the
health professions, community-based participatory research, cultural
competency and a primer for community agencies on how to develop authen-
tic, sustainable partnerships with higher educational institutions
*Free registration to a half-day intensive workshop for community agen-
cies in San Antonio (space limited)
*Workshop tracks on promoting health through access to higher education,
service-learning, community-based participatory research, community and
economic development, broad-based community partnerships, clinical and
community service, policy and advocacy and more!
*Site visits to innovative community-based programs addressing a wide
variety of health and quality of life issues
*Posters and exhibits that feature program outcomes, products and ser-
vices that can help to strengthen your partnership efforts
