18 November - 5 December, 2003
Tamale, Northern Region, Ghana

Dear colleagues,

The Institute of Tropical Medicine in Berlin is conducting a
Training Module on "Performing Clinical Drug Trials for Antima-
larials in Africa" from Nov. 18 to Dec. 5, 2003 in Tamale, North-
ern Region, Ghana. This module is especially directed towards Af-
rican scientists and physicians interested in getting involved in
clinical drug trials in their home countries. It involves topics
on Ethical Conduct, writing a Study Protocol, Ethics Committees,
submission forms, GCP-ICH Guidelines, SOPs, Epidemiology and Sta-
tistics, Epi-Info Software and others. The focus is on hands-on
experience and participants will be trained how to write the nec-
essary documents. Involvement in ongoing trials is also part of
the training. We still have some places (5) and would like to ask
you if you could post this notice on your web page. Participation
is free and accommodation can be arranged. Transportation costs
can not be covered. Under certain circumstances a daily allowance
of US$ 10.00 can be paid to African participants. Those inter-
ested can contact me - mailto:muehlen@medscape.com. A program is
also available and could be sent as an attachment if necessary.

Sincerely yours,

Marion Muehlen, MD, DTMPH
