First-time Publication: Population Reports on CD-ROM

For the first time ever, the quarterly journal Population Reports will be
distributing a multimedia version on CD-ROM in addition to the print ver-
sion. All the content of the new issue, "Population and the Environment:
The Global Challenge" plus interactive enhancements that provide additional
depth and detail will be available on the disk. Multimedia enhancements in-
clude video and audio of experts explaining their research, animated charts
and diagrams, and links from selected POPLINE records to over 2,500 pages
of full-text documents.

You can:
* See video and/or hear audio of experts in the field explaining their re-
  search.
* See animated charts and diagrams to better understand concepts and rela-
  tionships.
* Link from citations to the appropriate POPLINE bibliographic record, and
* Link from selected POPLINE records to over 2,500 pages of full-text docu-
  ments.

The CD-ROM is a valuable resource for planners and policy makers, research-
ers, educators, and program managers worldwide. Development, production,
and distribution of the ePopulation Reports CD-ROM are supported by the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The CD-ROM will
be available in early 2001. It will be distributed at no cost to environ-
ment and population professionals working in developing countries. Orders
are being accepted now for 1st quarter 2001 distribution.
