Health Cards (49)
-----------------
I think it would be a brave move if you subjected your optimism to some
form of controlled trial.
Merrick, I couldn't agree with you more.
I will post on the Afro-Nets a request
for interested parties who would like to
participate in a pilot site program.
Dear Bill,
Thanks for your open minded and unprejudiced attitude. Evangelists seldom
have this deeper layer of scientific scepticism, and I value it. I agree
that absence of evidence on effectiveness does not mean that you should
stop proselytising; it means only that you should consider adding the need
for evaluation to the sermon!
I would be keen to participate in the design of an evaluation of the
effectiveness of HIS in primary care and district management. While a
single pilot site will tell you much about the feasibility of this HIS, I
suspect that a single site could not be the basis for an effectiveness
evaluation, and multiple sites would be needed - if the main focus is at
facility, say clinic level, then multiple clinics in one site would be
fine.
Best of luck.
