INET98 - Call for Papers
------------------------
Dear Colleagues:
The Internet Society will hold its 8th international conference 21-24
July 1988 in Geneva. The conference program is divided into various
tracks, and as yet there is not one established on the health-related
uses of internet. This is an opportunity for us to show the many ways
in which the internet and the World Wide Web can benefit health, from
individuals to international organisations, from direct health care
applications to policy-making and networking. I've seen many out-
standing examples and encourage you to share yours. If INET98 re-
ceives enough abstracts related to health, they will create a sepa-
rate track for us.
The range of topics in INET98 will be broad: education, business, and
networking technology, among others. The conference will be preceded
by a weeklong network training workshop, and full and half-day tuto-
rials sessions will be held the first few days of the conference.
INET98 is inviting abstracts, poster presentations, and proposals for
panels and tutorials. Submissions need not be research-related; a
wide variety of topics, issues and experiences is sought. Panels
could be on topics such as: ethical, legal or policy-related issues
of telehealth delivery; technical or logistical issues of connec-
tivity; distance education for health professionals; activism for
health issues; disease surveillance and control; reliability of
health information on the net, and many more.
The deadline for submission of abstracts (electronically or other-
wise) is 24 October, with some flexibility due to the late announce-
ment. I encourage you to share your experience at this unique venue.
The full instructions for submissions, as well as more details on the
conference are available at:

Those without direct access to the web are invited to contact me di-

for any duplicate postings you may receive.
