International Conference on Street Children in East Africa

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
The "International Conference on Street Children in East Africa" will
be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - April 19-21, 2000. Medical and
social scientists and representatives from local and international
NGO's will meet to address factors in the lives of street children
that determine their health, especially the violence and poverty of
street life that make them vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. Preventive and
health care strategies will be shared in an effort to build models
that will reduce incidence and provide care for these children.
