Management Development Course for HIV/AIDS Managers

UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) in partnership
with Johnson and Johnson, AMREF and GBSN (Global Business School
Network) has developed a curriculum for a worldwide training
effort to build management capacity for HIV/AIDS service
providers in developing countries. Management capacity is often
the impediment to successful scaling up of services in this
area. UCLA intends to offer the training to the top management
of Africa based organizations/institutions dedicated to
providing care, treatment and support services to People Living
with HIV/AIDS.

The program will take place on 15th - 21st April 2007 and 16th -
22nd September 2007 at the AMREF International Training Centre
in Nairobi, Kenya. The program has been designed and will be
delivered by world-class management faculty from the prestigious
University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), with the
assistance of faculty members from East African Universities.

The program is funded by Johnson and Johnson one of the most
admired companies in the world today, and is offered in
cooperation the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF)
and the Global Business School Network (GBSN). Participants who
attend all the sessions and complete the program successfully
will receive a certificate of completion from the University of
California. There is no participant fee for this program.
Participants who complete the program will receive a stipend of
US$ 100. Travel expenses, if required, are to be borne by the
participant or his/her organization. Lodging and all meals
during the course are provided and paid for by the program
sponsors.

applying to the April 2007 program is March 2, 2007 and the
deadline for the September 2007 program is August 3, 2007.
Applicants will be reviewed by both AMREF and by UCLA, and will
be informed of their decision by 16th March 2007, or 17th August
2007, respectively at the latest.
