Re: SADC Gender Unit

Elizabeth,

Thank you for the information on your new organisation. Concerning
your request for materials for a document centre: The List of Free
Materials in Reproductive Health, 7th ed. (257 pp, 1996) is compiled
and issued by INTRAH and the PRIME Project to inform reproductive
health professionals, particularly in developing countries, of the
large number and variety of materials available free of charge from
organisations around the world. The materials are organised into ten
categories:

- overview of reproductive health
- family planning
- maternal and newborn health
- reproduction and sexuality
- STDs/RTIs/HIV/AIDS
- family and community health
- population and the environment
- gender
- economic and community development
- catalogues and references

Print editions are available in English, French and Spanish. The da-
tabase of over 1200 entries in the List of Free Materials is avail-
able on the Internet at this site:
http://intrah.med.unc.edu/interact/lofm_search.html

You may request materials by contacting the agency identified at the
end of each entry.

The 8th edition of the List is due in early 1999. Contact me if you
would like to know more.
