GIS Applications in Public Health, April 23 – 27, Dakar, Senegal

MEASURE Evaluation is pleased to announce a regional workshop on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), titled, "GIS Applications in Public Health,” for French speaking professionals. The workshop is sponsored by the CESAG in collaboration with MEASURE Evaluation in Dakar, Senegal.

A limited number of MEASURE Evaluation fellowships are available to qualified candidates from USAID-assisted countries.

VLDP for M&E Teams in Lusophone Countries

MEASURE Evaluation is accepting applications for the Virtual Leadership Development Program (VLDP) for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) teams in Lusophone countries. This VLDP is for teams working in M&E of HIV/AIDS, FP/RH, and infectious disease programs in Lusophone countries.

This VLDP is being offered free of charge to qualified teams. The cost of the program is being supported by USAID.

The deadline for applications is March 26, 2012.

Improving Routine Health Information Systems

The African Centre for Advanced Studies in Management (CESAG) in Dakar, Senegal, in partnership with MEASURE Evaluation, will hold a workshop on Improving Routine Health Information Systems in Francophone Africa.

The course is designed for French-speaking, government, NGO and staff responsible for management of health services, RHIS and M&E at national- and sub-national levels.

Deadline to apply is April 13, 2012.

Operational Guidelines for Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV Programmes for Sex Workers, Men who have Sex with Men, and Transgender People - Volume II for Service Delivery Providers <http://goo.gl/YT83R&gt;

These Guidelines address the unique monitoring and evaluation needs of settings where HIV affects men who have sex with men, sex workers, and transgender people. They apply to countries with low-level, concentrated, and generalized HIV epidemics. The Guidelines assume three levels of monitoring and evaluation that require coordination – at national, sub-national and service delivery levels.

Performance of Routine Information System Management (PRISM) is a conceptual framework for strengthening routine health information systems (RHIS) through better data quality and improved information use. This guide is intended for professionals who want to design, assess, strengthen, and evaluate RHIS performance at the national and sub‐national levels.

A potential tool to guide improvements in service integration is organizational network analysis. Organizational network analysis is an innovative and accessible approach to understanding relationships among actors in health care provision. The approach can provide information about the extent to which organizations share information and resources or refer clients. Results can help actors make better use of available resources to benefit clients.
