Publish free on BioMed Central
------------------------------
BioMed Central is a collection of peer-reviewed journals that publish
biomedical research free of charge and immediately on the internet.
As well as publishing research submitted to its own journals, BioMed
Central also helps researchers wanting to start new, open access
journals by providing technical support, while editorial control re-
mains with the scientists. More information:

The advantages of publishing in BioMed Central are that there is free
and immediate access to research, fast and efficient peer review,
high visibility for your research, no page charges, and you keep the
copyright. More information:

BioMed Central publishes research articles in all areas of biology
and medicine, after full peer review:
<http://www.biomedcentral.com/info/peerreview.asp>\. Our electronic
structure enables us to do this both quickly and efficiently - cur-
rently we take six to eight weeks from submission to publication of
research articles, publication being within 24 hours after accep-
tance. All published research is available on the web, free of charge
and without barriers.
BioMed Central will make money in the traditional way - through ad-
vertising and subscriptions. The difference, however, is that sub-
scriptions will be charged only for "value added" features, such as
reviews, commentaries, and information tools that help people navi-
gate and interpret medical and scientific literature. All research
articles will be free.
Research articles published in BioMed Central will also be available
on PubMed Central in full and without delay. (PubMed Central is the
US National Institutes of Health's archive of open access, peer re-
viewed research: <http://pubmedcentral.nih.gov/> ). This ensures per-
manent visibility, immediate listing in PubMed, and easy linking to
related information.
Research articles are grouped into journals prefixed with 'BMC', for
example BMC Neuroscience. All BioMed Central journals have a team of
subject advisers and core reviewers. In addition, BioMed Central
hosts affiliated journals - currently: Arthritis Research, Breast
Cancer Research, Critical Care, Genome Biology, and Respiratory Re-
search. As well as being on BioMed Central, these journals have inde-
pendent websites. As with all journals on BioMed Central, their pri-
mary research can be accessed free of charge.
