RFI: Anti-Malaria product distribution from RSA
-----------------------------------------------
Dear colleagues
We are anxious to become part in the global fight against Malaria and
other diseases transmitted by Mosquitoes.
We strongly believe that people should help themselves and subsequently
under the guidance of a dedicated anti-malaria campaigner (women)
started a manufacturing company in South Africa - AMSHARP (Medical &
Agricultural Protective Products for African nomadic conditions) - for
Mosquito Bed-nets and related Hospital Linen.
We are currently giving employment opportunities to some of those who
desperately need a source of income and we endeavour to become the best
competitor on the market for low cost mosquito nets and hospital linen
with our unique textile.
We are urgently seeking support from any organisation that will assist
us in our endeavours to supply cost effective Mosquito nets and hospi-
tal linen products to Africa or invest in our operation for the good of
mankind. You are aware of the millions who suffer in Africa and we are
based in Africa. Our problem is that we are not sure how to become a
supplier to the many task groups and programmes relating to this mat-
ter. We believe Africans should be helped by fellow Africans - we have
just received favourable assistance from our Trade & Industry Dept. in
South Africa that will assist us to be at the Worldaid expo in October
98. Should you know of a venue for us to follow in order to obtain as-
sistance, please advise us accordingly.
We believe that our MOSQUITO net will work with or without insecticide
(chemicals) and could thus be supplied very cost effectively. The tex-
tile is a non woven - product with qualities used in many applications,
because it is very low cost and very strong in relation to its mass -
transport cost is also reduced. The textile comes in various grams per
sq meter from 15 up to 100 grams. (from 60 grams up, it becomes "water
resistant" in a strange way, because it becomes water resistant but
breath (allow air to pass). We have the SABS test results. We have
various designs. Your recommendations on our endeavours will be warmly
appreciated.
Warm regards and blessings,
Jacques du Preez
