RFI: HIV treatment advocacy and monitoring organisations
--------------------------------------------------------

Dear all,

I would like to get information about HIV treatment advocacy and
treatment monitoring programs that can be implemented in sub-
Saharan Africa. I am part of a group of physicians advocating
for increased funding for HIV treatment and at the same time
dedicated to the monitoring of such treatment to curb down the
high rate of drug resistance.

I will be grateful if any valuable information is sent either to
the forum or to my box mailto:vcngwa@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Dr. Ngwa Valentine

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) course structure
---------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Colleagues,

It is clear that Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
has seen fast and wide growth in the last decade. Its impact has
been felt in almost all sectors. But the impact of ICT on health
care is lagging behind in developing countries like Tanzania. As
part of the Health Sector Reform, the Government of Tanzania
through the Ministry of Health strives for improving quality of
health services through training human resources for health es-
pecially District Health Management Teams (DHMTs) also known as
Council Health Management Teams (CHMTs).

Currently, the Ministry of Health in Tanzania is reviewing Man-
agement Training Modules for DHMTs, amongst other things it was
decided that a module for Information and Communication Technol-
ogy (ICT) should be prepared. I have been asked to be part of
the course development team which will prepare ICT course struc-
ture for Health workers in Tanzania especially those working at
District level assuming management roles.

I am kindly asking your assistance if you have ideas, resources,
links and suggestions how the course should look like.

You can send me information through my e-mail:

Dear Dennis,

I can volunteer to help you. Could you please let me know which
domain I need to contribute and what the framework of the pro-
ject is?

I have been involved in similar projects in India. My skill set
is available at http://www.drvinod.netfirms.com

I am also interested in Tanzania in another way, as I was born
in that country. My childhood memories of places like Bihawana,
Dodoma, Likonde etc. are still vivid. I have studied for about a
couple of months in the Canon Andrea Mwaks School Dodoma, before
we left the place. I would be grateful if you could help me with
more information/photographs from Tanzania. I could readily ac-
knowledge them at my personal site.

Best regards
