RFI: Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV
------------------------------------------------------
Hello all Afro-netters!
I am trying to gather information on surveys done on prevention of
mother to child transmission of HIV in resource poor settings. I read
some interesting surveys done in Africa - sorry that I forgot the
country - giving nevirapine to the mother and to the newborn baby
without counselling and testing the mother in areas where HIV is very
prevalent.
If you have some information on this kind of approach, please send me
more information (whether the surveys are published or not) espe-
cially about the approach, the results (including drug resistance, if
surveyed), the meaning of breast feeding etc.
Kindest regards,
