Shipping Computers to The Gambia (11)
-------------------------------------
Hello friends,
Last May, I was in contact with you about getting some computers to
the Gambia. As far as I know, 7 computers were flown to the Gambia a
couple of weeks ago, via Jackie Francy's sister. I look forward to
staying in touch with Jackie about the computers, helping out from
this end, if at all possible.
Through the Health Sciences and Technology Academy (HSTA), I and oth-
ers are also interested in initiating a collaboration between high
school students in various African countries and high school students
in the HSTA program. HSTA students are required to complete a yearly
community health project of their choice. How exciting it would be
for HSTA students to work together with other students on a health-
related project of common interest. As a HSTA Curriculum Coordinator,
I am in a position to help this venture be successful. Students here
have e-mail, web pages. There may be money for us to buy C-U-C-Me
cameras for students here and there, and who knows, maybe we could
even gather up funds for travel between here and there...
Through HSTA, we have students begin thinking of project ideas in
September. By December, they usually have an experimental design in
mind, and begin the investigation after the holidays. They must come
to some kind of completion by April, when they present. Some projects
last more than 1 year.

If this isn't feasible, can you please put me in contact with someone
who would consider such an exciting proposal?
Thanks so much,
Jenny
