Tanzanian orphans/Ark Foundation battle discrimination...(2)

UPDATE
Dear Friends,
Hello and thank you all for your letters of concern and support
for the Tanzania Teens Against AIDS! That has been the most en-
couraging and inspiring aspect of a cruel and tragic situation.
I regret to say that things have gone from bad to worse--though
the bright spot is that the Teens did hold their camp for or-
phans and vulnerable children last week, which drew participants
from Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, and Uganda--and am pasting a let-
ter below which they have sent to me for posting.
If anyone has thoughts or suggestions or can offer any kind of
support (such as those of you who have offered or engaged in me-
dia efforts, have offered legal advice, have suggested contact-
ing African human-rights activists and presenting this case to
the Court of Human Rights authorities), please contact the Teens
directly at mailto:tzteensagainstaids@hotmail.com and their men-
tor, Rhoi Kaima, at mailto:rkaima@hotmail.com .
Again, deepest thanks to you all, and I will keep in touch my-
self with unfolding details. Blessings and all best wishes,
Janet Feldman

Dear Janet,
Thank you for the support, we have heard two court hearings how-
ever nothing is happening yet, we had a successful OVC camp with
100 children in attendance from Zambia, Uganda, Kenya and Tanza-
nia, a report will be sent out soon.
About the issue of the center the situation is getting worse, we
are missing classes, the judge was given money and therefore
moves when she wants to, of the media that you contacted some
have contacted us and almost every newspaper both in English and
Swahili have covered the story, some on front pages, some in-
side. The politicians have not responded even though we went to
the parliament and we were refused to see anybody. With the re-
ports of the media, the neighbor's lawyer is only interested in
money since he is a college teacher and colleges are now closed.
Rhoi has received death threats and I think she may have to
leave soon. We go to court today, and I will let you know what
happens. Please keep the issue alive for it affects all orphans,
what will we do without free secondary education? More next
time, Teens
