Aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to strengthen health services manage-
ment at the district level.
Course concept:
The three components, i.e. Management, Epidemiology and Bio-
Statistics are integrated in the three parts outlined below.
Outline of the course:
Phase 1: Preparation for Situation Analysis
Phase 2: Surveys, Analysis and Report Writing
Phase 3: Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
Target Group:
The course is primarily aimed at members of the District
Health Management Team (DHMT) and the curriculum is con-
structed accordingly. Specific target groups are: district
medical officers, public health nurses, midwives, community
health nurses and hospital administrators.
Fees and Sponsorship:
Course Fee: US $ 4,000.00 or equivalent in Kenya Shillings.
This covers: full board accommodation (i.e. meals inclusive),
Tuition, Inpatient Health Insurance but no travel and daily
allowances. Applicants are advised to solicit for their own
sponsorship.
