Using Client Satisfaction Data for Quality Improvement
------------------------------------------------------

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to offer you a complimentary edition of "Using Client
Satisfaction Data for Quality Improvement of Health Services in Peru",
recently published as part of the Quality Assurance Project's (QAP) new
Case Study series. The Case Study series presents real applications of
quality assurance methods in developing countries at various levels of
the health system, from national to community. Case studies describe
how actual teams used QA methods to enhance the performance of maternal
and reproductive health, child survival, and infectious disease pro-
grams. We currently have case studies in the following technical areas
of quality assurance:

Quality Improvement
* Using Client Satisfaction Data for Quality Improvement of Health Ser-
  vices in Peru

Quality Design
* Designing Obstetric Services to Reduce Maternal Mortality in Guate-
  mala
* Designing Quality Essential Obstetric Care Services in Honduras

Quality Assessment
* Assessing the Quality of Facility-Level Family Planning Services in
  Malawi

Standards
* Developing Family Planning Standards in Jamaica

In the coming year, QAP will continue to publish case studies in these
and other topic areas, including
(a) accreditation and
(b) cost and quality.
In addition, a compendium of case studies in all these areas will be
available late next year.

Individual copies of QAP case studies can be ordered in print version
or can be obtained free of charge from the QAP website. Those inter-
ested in downloading the case studies should visit:
http://www.qaproject.org/index1.html
(click on the "Products" link, then click on "Case Studies").

Publication prices apply only to orders from North America and Western
Europe.
