World Report on Violence and Health
-----------------------------------

Dear people,

Early next year, the World Health Organization and its collaborating
centres on injury and violence prevention will publish its first
World Report on Violence and Health. The report is unique because
it's the first one of its kind that deals with violence on a global
level in order to raise worldwide awareness on this issue.

To support the scientific chapters we will supplement the data with
first persons accounts from those who have experienced violence in
order to deepen the understanding of the issue. In order to make a
difference, we should allow victims and those who work closely to
victims, to tell their story.

In particular we are looking for narratives or testimonies of victims
and perpetrators of violence, letters, poems and photos.

If you have access to first accounts on child abuse, youth violence,
violence against women, or violence against people with diseases such
as AIDS, would you be interested in providing me with a few case
studies/testimonies to put into the report?

Due to time constraints I would appreciate it if you could let me
know, preferably by e-mail, as soon as possible. I will be happy to
give you all the additional information you need.

I look forward to your response and wish you all the best in your
work.

Kind regards,

Nynke Poortinga
