E-DRUG: Acyclovir or valazyclovir? (5)
Where these drugs are appropriate, valacyclovir is now recommended by the
Victorian STD guidelines because it can be given 3 times a day rather than
5 times a day. As shown by Joel Lexchin, in other ways the drugs are
similar. Valacyclovir costs a bit less but that could vary in different
countries.
