E-DRUG: African Aids drug plan faces collapse (3)
-------------------------------------------------
dear E-druggers,
There is very little scientific evidence at present on the efficacy and
efectiveness of FDC ARV's in resource poor settings or any other setting.
My thoughts are that FDC's will be beneficial in resource poor settings if
cost is a major factor. The other factors that will influence their choice
is adherance to treatment regimes in communities where we have a low level
of literacy. Individual drugs will possibly create resistanc patterns very
quickly due to non-adherance. In these settings FDC will be more
advantageous.
Is there any scientific evidence showing that individual drug treatment are
superior to FDC?
Check it out.
