E-drug: Antimalarial Drug Production

Re: Request for Data on Antimalarial Drug Production and Consumption
The Division of International Training and Research (DITR) of the
Fogarty International Center is currently examining the global impact
of malaria. Dr. Joel Breman and I would greatly appreciate your
comments on the following.
Do you have statistics on domestic and worldwide antimalarial drug
production and consumption? Can you provide me with this information
and inform me of the persons and units within and outside your
organization where this information could be obtained? This may also
include drug companies that produce antimalarial drugs.
We understand that some of the requested data may be sensitive in that
it is currently unpublished. We would keep this information
confidential unless permission is granted to do otherwise. Because of
the short-term nature of this project, we would greatly appreciate
your reply by mid-July. By adding your information to our analysis of
malaria morbidity, mortality, and economic impact, we intend to
highlight the importance of this global health threat. If you have
