ARV Access for Africa (AA4A)
ARV Access for Africa is currently seeking a fulltime Consultant/Senior
Consultant to strengthen the management team and to provide technical
assistance in pharmaceutical supply management and participate in other
ongoing activities as required, from our Pretoria office.

Reports to Project Manager

Key areas of responsibility

* Conduct consultancies and provide technical assistance in
pharmaceutical supply chain management with emphasis on procurement
through tenders funded by the World Bank, Global Fund, EU and other
global financing mechanisms.
* Secure and manage contracts.
* Acquire new clients and enhance relationships with current
clients.
* Expand consultancy services as one of the successful business
pillars of AA4A.
* Monitor and evaluate performance of consultants assigned to
field activities.
* Prepare, in close collaboration with the Project Manager,
reports and communications on consultancies performed in a standardized
and customer satisfactory manner.
* Advise management on creating and implementing new consultancy
opportunities.
* Assist as required, with the training programs being provided by
the company.
* Assist as required, with the component of the buffer stock of
ARVs supplied from the bonded warehouse.

Qualifications and Experience

* Degree in pharmacy with additional training in business
administration, procurement or public health.
* At least 10 years experience in supply chain management,
including procurement, working with a supply organization such as a
Central Medical Stores or comparable private organization in developing
countries.
* In-depth experience of procurement of pharmaceuticals through
various methods including national tenders, tenders funded through World
Bank, Global Fund, EU and other global funding mechanisms.
* Involvement in the production of procurement plans for projects
funded by the Global Fund
* Involvement in training personnel in pharmacy stores management

* Experience in and knowledge of transport systems and in-country
logistics.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple
tasks simultaneously, set priorities and work in a team with diverse
cultural backgrounds.
* Self driven with a high sense of quality, efficiency and meeting
tight deadlines.
* Experience in HIV/AIDS related activities and working with donor
funded projects an advantage.
* Fluency in oral and written English.
* Strong computer skills, including sound knowledge of Windows and
Microsoft Office applications including; Word, Excel and Power Point.
* Ability to travel internationally.
